Should cellphones be allowed in class?

I think cellphones should be allowed in class for many reasons, like safety reasons and when you're in class bored and done all you're work. You shouldn't use you're cellphone when the teacher is teaching a leason or when you're doing group work, the appropriate time to use you're phone is when you're done all you're work or have nothing to do. Cellphones can be helpful in class, you can go on the internet and use the dictonary, and there is a calculator on it which you can use for math work. Cellphones can come in use for teachers as well, for example Mrs. Thompson used her cellphone for us to get onto blogger. I've even seen some teachers text in class!

Pros
- You can have a private conversation without people hearing it
- Useful, example: Calculator, dictonary, internet
- Safetly issues

Cons
- Getting distracted by you're cellphone and not remembering what to do
- Cheating on a test
- Ringing/vibrating noise distracts other students around

  1. I agree with your post. Lots of students text while the teacher is talking and its disraspectful, I think if everyone is done their work, they should be allowed on their phones as a break. I also agree with your pros and cons. students should be able to have their phones in class incase of a safty issue with family.

  2. I agree with you lindsay because alot of pepole use thier cell phones for the google dictonary.I also think it would be a very useful gadget in school, kids would have thier own privicy and the teachers wouldnt always have to yell at studnets beacuse they would be working and be chating. Its win win all around.
